About

Karolina Chomistekova

What is your occupation?

I’m originally from Slovakia, but these days you’ll find me chasing wind and
sunshine wherever they decide to show up. My “base” is wherever the ocean
kisses the shore just right — though I must admit, I adore winter escapes to
Miami, where the wind is soft, the water is warm, and the sunsets look like
they’ve been airbrushed.

What is your occupation?

Professional life juggler: part dreamer, part doer, with a dash of entrepreneur, a sprinkle of creative spirit, and an ever-growing addiction to salt water.

What attracted you to start kitesurfing?

The truth?
I wanted something that would shake me out of my comfort zone a sport that’s equal parts graceful and wild, where elegance meets adrenaline. I saw
kitesurfers gliding like they were dancing with the wind, and I thought, “Well,
I need to know what that feels like.” Spoiler: it’s addictive.

What does kitesurfing give you-physically, mentally, or emotionally?

Physically?
Muscles in places I didn’t know existed.

Mentally?
The ultimate reset button — you simply can’t stress about emails when you’re
being catapulted over waves.

Emotionally?
Freedom. That light, intoxicating mix of playfulness and serenity you only get
when it’s just you, the wind, and the endless horizon.

What does femininity mean to you?

On the water, femininity is the ability to be both fierce and fluid — to cut through waves with power while still making it look effortless.

Off the water, it’s embracing your softness and your strength equally. It’s about walking into a room (or onto a beach) and owning your presence without needing to shout.

A world without women – what would it look like?

Honestly? Very beige. Too quiet. Like a playlist stuck on elevator music. There would be no lipstick smudges on coffee cups, no fierce debates over the best sunscreen, and absolutely no one to multitask saving the planet while baking a cake and negotiating a deal. Basically… dull.

Favorite kitesurf spot?

Mykonos — where the wind doesn’t just whisper, it roars. Strong and challenging, but paired with those dazzling Greek blues that make your heart skip a beat. It’s the perfect playground for testing your limits while feeling completely alive, and the post-session sunsets are simply unforgettable..

Other sports do you love?

Yes — yoga, because it keeps me flexible enough to untangle myself from my lines without calling for help. Skiing, for the thrill of carving through snow the way I carve through water. And padel, because it keeps my reflexes sharp and my competitive side happily entertained.
